Lufthansa's CEO tells Focus: The airline is on track to set a new record in 2023

Lufthansa, Germany's flagship airline, is headed for a record result in 2023, according to CEO Carsten Spohr. In an interview with Focus News magazine, Spohr stated that the average profit per passenger this year is 15 euros ($16.51), and that the airline is now growing significantly again after recovering from the pandemic.

Despite having fewer flights than originally planned this year due to staff and aircraft shortages, Lufthansa is still on course for a record year. The company is hiring 1,200 people every month and has ordered 200 new aircraft to address these shortages.
