The two planes came within 200 feet vertically and 850 feet horizontally of each other. The American Airlines pilot was able to abort the landing and go around, avoiding a collision. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the incident.

This is the latest in a series of close calls at major airports. In recent months, there have been several incidents where planes have come within close proximity of each other on the runway. The FAA has warned airlines to be more vigilant and to take steps to prevent accidents.
