Turkish Airlines had a load factor exceeding 80% In May

Turkish Airlines has regained its successful days in the sky after overcoming the negative impacts of the pandemic on the global aviation sector faster than any other airline.

Leaving behind the days when no passengers were transported on various routes, bringing the entire sector to a halt, the flag carrier achieved an 80 percent load factor in May 2022, transporting 6.3 million passengers.

Despite the fact that numerous nations continue to impose travel restrictions, the flag carrier managed to raise its seat capacity available to passengers by 12.6 percent in May compared to the same month in 2019, owing to increased demand.

Commenting on the May numbers of the company, Turkish Airlines General Manager Bilal EkÅŸi; “Although our sector was almost brought to halt during a pandemic, we as Turkish Airlines never stopped. We worked towards today as we knew we would be returning to our route to success even stronger.

May 2022 numbers show that our goals and dreams are starting to materialize. We believe we will be meeting again above the clouds with the 6.3 million passengers who chose the privileged travel experience of Turkish Airlines in May and extend our thanks for choosing us. Now is the time to talk about good things again.”

Turkish Airlines has been successful not only in passenger transportation but also in aviation freight transport. In May, the volume of goods and mail carried climbed by 11.3 percent over the same month last year, totaling 144 thousand tonnes.
