Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has announced the launch of eight new destinations, expanding its network to 76 routes. The airline has launched five seasonal summer routes and three year-round destinations, further solidifying its position as a global aviation leader. The five summer routes launched by Etihad include Antalya, Nice, Santorini, Malaga, and Mykonos. These destinations cater to the growing demand for summer travel, offering passengers a variety of options for their vacations. Etihad has also resumed service to Malaga and Mykonos, providing convenient connections to these popular summer destinations.
In addition to the seasonal summer routes, Etihad has introduced three year-round destinations: Al Qassim, Bali, and Jaipur. These destinations further strengthen Etihad's network, connecting passengers to key business markets and popular tourist destinations. Antonoaldo Neves, Chief Executive Officer at Etihad, expressed his excitement about the airline's network growth. "It is an exciting month for Etihad as we deliver on our plans to expand our network with eight additional locations. We are launching flights to three important sites – Bali, Jaipur, and Al Qassim – which we can see from our forward bookings are already proving popular with our guests."
The new destinations were launched during June 2024, bringing the total number of operating routes this summer to 76. Etihad has also commenced operations to new seasonal destinations and returned to popular summer hotspots. Etihad's network expansion is part of the airline's strategy to grow its passenger numbers and fleet size over the next decade. The airline aims to triple its number of passengers to 30 million and double its fleet to 150 planes by 2030.
The new routes will be served by Etihad's modern fleet of aircraft, providing passengers with a comfortable and convenient travel experience. The airline's commitment to expanding its network and improving connectivity is a key part of its strategy to support the growth of Abu Dhabi as a global hub for business and tourism. Etihad's network expansion is expected to provide passengers with more options for travel and contribute to the growth of the airline and the UAE's aviation industry.
