Superjumbo Takes Off Again: Global Airlines Gets Its First A380

Global Airlines, a British start-up, has officially taken full ownership of its first Airbus A380. This significant milestone marks the beginning of a new chapter for the airline and the aviation industry.

The Airbus A380, with MSN 120, was previously operated by China Southern. It was de-registered in the United States and re-registered in Malta on February 2, 2024. The aircraft now flies under the registration 9H-GLOBL.

Aircraft Condition and Maintenance

Over the past 13 months, the aircraft has been based in the Mojave Airport (MHV), California, where expert teams have taken care of it. Business Class Aviation (BCA), with support from HiFly, has carried out extensive work on the aircraft to ensure it is in perfect condition before it takes its first flight under Global Airlines. All systems are being tested to the standard that a new aircraft would be put through, following Airbus instructions.
