Pratt & Whitney, a renowned name in the design, manufacture, and service of aircraft engines and auxiliary power units, has announced the establishment of its India Digital Capability Center (IDCC) in Bengaluru, India. This new center is set to accelerate innovation and drive digital and business transformation for Pratt & Whitney worldwide.

The IDCC is strategically located next to Pratt & Whitney's existing engineering and supply chain operations centers of excellence in India. This proximity will facilitate close collaboration with other RTX businesses and functions in India, including Collins Aerospace and RTX Enterprise Services. The center's primary focus will be on delivering multiple digital technology capabilities across various priority areas of Pratt & Whitney's digital transformation. With $40 million already invested in engineering and supply chain operations centers in the past two years, Pratt & Whitney continues to grow its presence in India with this additional multi-million-dollar investment in the IDCC.

The IDCC has been inaugurated to provide various digital technology capabilities critical to Pratt & Whitney’s overarching digital strategy. "The expansion of Pratt & Whitney's digital technology presence in Bengaluru will allow us to leverage India's aviation and technology talent and accelerate our digital transformation," said Rahul Dharni, vice president and global chief information officer at Pratt & Whitney. Recruitment drives are currently underway, with plans to increase the IDCC’s workforce to over 300 employees by 2027. This latest investment in India by Pratt & Whitney follows a $40 million injection into engineering and supply chain operations centers over the past two years.
