A Delta Airlines pilot, Kenneth Gow, has filed a lawsuit against TK Elevator Corporation, the company responsible for maintaining the travelator at Denver International Airport. The lawsuit comes after an incident where Gow's foot was 'swallowed' by the travelator, leaving him in severe pain.

The Incident
On November 4, 2022, Gow was making his way through Concourse A at Denver International Airport. As he neared the end of the travellator, he felt a surge of pain in his foot and collapsed. The suit alleges that a plate at the end of the moving walkway was missing, causing Gow's foot to get trapped in the gap.
The Aftermath
Following the incident, Gow was left with extensive injuries. Photos attached to the complaint show the pilot's mangled left shoe and sock, which appears to be missing the toe. Gow went to Utah Injury Clinic on November 7, 2022, seeking relief for pain in his left ankle and foot as well as his shoulder, which was injured in the fall. He began physical therapy on November 29 but continued to experience severe pain in his foot.
The Lawsuit
The lawsuit argues that the moving walkway was 'not in proper repair' and 'posed an unreasonable risk of injury to passengers on it,' creating a 'dangerous condition. The complaint alleges that TK Elevator Corporation 'failed to exercise reasonable care in maintaining the moving walkway' and 'knew or should have known of the unreasonably dangerous condition created by the improper maintenance'. The suit claims that as a direct result of the defendant’s negligence, Gow suffered severe injuries, damages, and losses, including physical impairment, emotional distress, mental anguish, and physical suffering. The lawsuit seeks an amount to be determined at trial for medicine, doctors’ fees, prescriptions, hospital care, imaging, physical therapy, and medical procedures.
