Volaris Airbus A321 Experiences Tail Strike During Go-Around at Guadalajara Airport

A Volaris Airbus A321 experienced a tail strike while executing a go-around at Guadalajara Airport in Mexico. The Airbus A321-200, registered as XA-VLT, was conducting flight YOI607 from Cancun to Guadalajara. However, during its landing on runway 11R at Guadalajara, flight YOI607 had to perform a go-around. In the course of the go-around, the A321 encountered a tail strike, incurring significant damage. Despite the interrupted landing, the aircraft managed to land safely 20 minutes afterward. 

2016 delivered Volaris Airbus A321-231 aircraft (XA-VLT) suffered tail strike while landing on Runway 10 of the Guadalajara Intl. Airport (GDL)on 22nd Dec.

Aircraft,that operated flight Y4607 from Cancun (CUN) ,is on ground pending further maintenance on it.

The event did not result in any injuries, according to reports. However, as a result of the incident, the aircraft has been grounded, pending additional repair.
