Japan Airlines (JAL) has received its first Airbus A350-1000, the latest and most advanced aircraft in the world. The A350-1000 is a long-range, wide-body jet that can fly up to 15,000 kilometers and carry up to 300 passengers. It features a new design, improved performance, and lower emissions than previous models.

The A350-1000 is the first aircraft produced by Airbus for JAL, which ordered 13 of them in 2014. The delivery of the first aircraft took place at Airbus Headquarters in Toulouse, France, on December 14, 2023. The milestone event was attended by JAL Representative Director and Chairman Yoshiharu Ueki and Airbus Chief Commercial Officer Christian Scherer.
The new aircraft will be used by JAL for its long-haul international flights from Tokyo Haneda Airport to New York JFK and Dallas-Fort Worth airports. These routes will be launched in December 2023 and January 2024 respectively. The A350-1000 will offer more comfort, convenience, and efficiency to JAL's customers. The interiors of the A350-1000 are also designed to provide a high level of service and entertainment. The first-class cabin features six suites that can be converted into different configurations, such as a sofa, a seat/single bed combo, or a full double bed⁵. Each suite has increased storage space and a small closet. There are no overhead compartments in first class, instead, there are sliding doors that offer privacy. The seats also have built-in headrest speakers that allow passengers to enjoy inflight entertainment without using headphones.
