On November 2, 2023, an Iberia Airbus A320-200, registration EC-IEG, performing flight IB-3234 from Madrid, Spain to Rome Fiumicino, Italy, experienced a loss of cabin pressure while en route at FL340 about 50nm west of Barcelona, Spain.
The crew initiated an emergency descent to FL100 due to the loss of cabin pressure. Following the incident, the aircraft diverted to Barcelona for a safe landing on runway 24R, approximately 35 minutes after leaving FL340. The remainder of the flight was canceled. The occurrence aircraft resumed service after about 19 hours on the ground.
