A passenger on a Sun Country Airlines flight from Orlando to Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) was arrested after he forced open an aircraft hatch and jumped off the wing to escape the waiting police.
The incident occurred on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at approximately 11:00 p.m. local time. The flight had just landed at MSP, and police were waiting to board the plane to arrest the passenger, who was wanted on a warrant.
The passenger, who has not been identified, was seated in the exit row. He reportedly forced open the hatch and jumped off the wing, landing on the tarmac. He then ran across the tarmac and hid in an LSG Sky Chef truck.
Police eventually found the passenger hiding in the truck and arrested him. He was taken into custody and charged with fleeing police.
The incident is under investigation by the FBI. The Sun Country Airlines flight was delayed for several hours as a result of the incident. Passengers on the flight were eventually able to disembark and continue their journey.
