Riyadh Air, the newest airline in Saudi Arabia, officially unveiled its new livery on Monday with a historic flyby alongside a Saudi Arabian Air Force jet. The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft flew at low altitude across the capital city of Riyadh, It went fly above King Khalid International Airport (KHU), then the King Abdullah Financial District, the Kingdom Tower, and the Al Faisaliah Tower. The new livery features a striking indigo color scheme with a white crescent moon and star on the tail. The design is inspired by the warmth and hospitality of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the vibrant lavender colors that carpet the desert in the spring.
The flyby was attended by highnesses, excellencies, and official dignitaries, including Riyadh Air CEO Tony Douglas. "This is a historic moment for Riyadh Air," Douglas said. "The unveiling of our new livery is a symbol of our commitment to providing our passengers with a world-class travel experience."
Even though Riyadh Air has obtained its air operator license, it is scheduled to begin operations in 2025 with a fleet of more than 70 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. The airline plans to serve a network of destinations across the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and North America. The license was handed over in a big celebration attended by Tony Douglas and a number of distinguished officials.
