Pratt & Whitney establishes a new manufacturing facility in Morocco.

Pratt & Whitney is set to launch an affiliate in Casablanca, Pratt & Whitney Maroc (PWM), to manufacture detailed static and structural machined parts for various engine models. The facility will be built with lean principles and CORE methodology to drive efficiency, and quality, and reduce costs.

The Moroccan facility will be built across 130,000 square feet and will be built with lean principles and CORE methodology. The construction is scheduled to begin in Q4 2023, with a successful launch in 2025. The Moroccan Ministry of Investment, Convergence, and Evaluation of Public Policies (MICEPP) believes the development will create job opportunities, foster knowledge transfer, and promote collaboration between local and international stakeholders.

Pratt & Whitney will also invest in increasing the capacity of its Columbus, Georgia facility in the US, which has been operational for nearly four decades. The investment of over $200 million will enable Pratt & Whitney to overhaul up to 400 GTF engines annually, which power Embraer E2, Airbus A220, and Airbus A320neo aircraft.

The company has secured new deals at the Paris Air Show, with China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings and United Airlines choosing Pratt & Whitney's GTF engines for their Airbus A321neo and XLR fleets.
