The second C919 of China Eastern Airlines is about to be delivered. It is the country's first self-developed jet airliner in accordance with international airworthiness standards and has independent intellectual property rights. It adopts a single-aisle narrow-body layout, with 158 to 168 seats and a range of 4,075 to 5,555 kilometers.
China Eastern Airlines and COMAC signed a purchase agreement for five C919 passenger aircraft in March 2021, and the first C919 aircraft has been delivered by the end of 2022. The company plans to complete the introduction of 5 C919s in 2022 and 2023 and will decide on the follow-up introduction plan based on the actual operating conditions and the company's aviation network planning.
China Eastern Airlines stated earlier that after it is put into commercial passenger operation, the C919 will appear on high-density domestic routes in Shanghai, Beijing, Xi'an, Kunming, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Shenzhen, and other places.
In July 2022, the "Big Three", China's state-owned airline, announced an order for 300 aircraft from Airbus with a total value of $12.8 Billion on the price list.
