Aeroflot has asked flight attendants to stop logging faults on flights

Aeroflot, the country's flag carrier, has directed employees to stop reporting flight faults in order to avoid aircraft being grounded until the problem is resolved. Senior flight attendants received an email in March 2022 instructing them to only include remarks on cabin equipment in the logbook in "agreement with aircraft commander".

Problems with oxygen cylinders, which are utilized in case of depressurization or for emergency medical care on board the aircraft, are no longer documented in the logbook. Sanctions imposed on Russia as a result of its invasion of Ukraine have restricted aviation companies from maintaining or delivering spare parts to the country's planes.

Iran, another strongly sanctioned country by the West, was recently reported to be providing maintenance for several Aeroflot planes.
