The fighter aircraft engine programme in India has received a significant offer from Rolls Royce

In order to co-develop a new engine that is not based on the Eurojet EJ200, a low-bypass turbofan that powers the Eurofighter Typhoon, Rolls-Royce has declared its willingness to do so. A new design proposal was sent to India because the EJ200 is owned by EuroJet Turbo GmbH and Rolls-Royce does not want other jet manufacturers to take part in the 5th Gen AMCA initiative.

The second suggestion from BAE Systems and Rolls-Royce is for India to collaborate with Italy and Japan on a 6th generation fighter jet as part of the Global Combat Air Programme. India will have access to cutting-edge engine technology through the new jet engine programme, which is managed by Rolls-Royce, including an optimised Thermal Management System, greater electrical power generation capability, and intelligent power management. For long years, Britain's Tempest Future Combat Air System programme has been the topic of discussions with India.
