A new collective labor agreement (CLA) covering the pilots covered by the CLA for KLM cockpit crew has been signed in principle between KLM and the Dutch Airline Pilots Association (VNV). The new CLA will go into effect on March 1, 2022, and last through March 1, 2023.
KLM is pleased with the outcome. This reflects KLM’s current situation and will ensure peace and stability for the upcoming year. The protocol documents will now be completed by KLM and VNV, who will then present them to their members’ council for approval.
KLM has made sure that the new CLA takes into account changes in Dutch prices. A pay clause has been agreed to, with a 2% raise taking effect on October 1, 2022, and another 2% taking effect on March 1, 2023. This reflects recent agreements with the unions that represent ground personnel.
With regard to productivity and flexibility for the upcoming time, we also established an agreement with VNV.
The current trial commuter program for foreign travel has been discontinued. Pilots who commute to work from homes outside of the Netherlands will now be charged for their flights.
When KLM is no longer in possession of a credit facility with government assurances, employees will be given a one-time payment. This reward is intended to recognize the teamwork that KLM employees are shown in the face of recent difficulties.
