IAG's CEO attributes chaos in airports to difficulty in finding staff

Luis Gallego, the Chief Executive of International Consolidated Airlines, on Thursday attributed the current chaos in many airports in Europe to the difficulty in finding staff as salary demands have increased.

“When we see the chaos that happens now in some European airports, it is related to the difficulty to find staff,” he said during a business event held by newspaper Expansion in Alcala de Henares in Spain.

He said some categories of airport workers in countries such as Britain were not attracting enough people and have to offer steep salary increases.
