United Airlines... More than 100 flights canceled on Christmas due to the "Omicron" outbreak

United Airlines, one of the largest US airlines, canceled more than 100 flights on Christmas Eve, due to staff shortages caused by the outbreak of the "Omicron" variant and the increase in infections.

"We regret that we had to cancel some flights, and we notify the affected customers in advance. We apologize for this and will do our best to rebook (tickets) for as many people as possible, and send them (to the places they had planned) for their vacation," the company said in a statement.

The days leading up to Christmas are the busiest in terms of passenger numbers, as is the case on January 2 and 3, when people return after the New Year celebrations.
