The state owned Egyptian national carrier, Egyptair, announced the suspension of flights to Toronto, Canada due to the new variant of Covid-19, Omicron.
"In light of the instructions issued regarding the suspension of air traffic between Cairo and Toronto in implementation of the precautionary measures taken to confront the spread of the Omicron strain, the company announces the suspension of its flights to and from Toronto, Canada, from dawn of tomorrow, Thursday, December 2, until further notice.", Said the airline in a statement.
The airline asked the customers to review their bookings and amend flights dates.
Canadian authorities announced on Tuesday, banning travelers from Nigeria, Malawi and Egypt, amid fears of the spread of the new variant of Covid-19, which was discovered earlier in South Africa
